History through Interpretive Signage

The City of Trenton has a rich history which the Department of Recreation, Natural Resources and Culture is proud to celebrate through a series of illustrated outdoor signs that mark the cultural, social and industrial events of our past. Going beyond the roadside historical marker, these large panels tell a deeper story based on historical research and images. You are invited to view them here, but better yet, seek them out in our neighborhoods, parks and city sidewalks to experience where history was made.

The collection is growing as we endeavor to capture over a thousand years of human activity in the place we call home. Plans for historic walks and trails are in motion so stay tuned with more to come!
