[ARCHIVED] TWW to Repair Large Valves in Hamilton Township

Water Main Valve

Trenton Water Works will repair an older 20-inch bypass valve in the 900 block of Kuser Road in Hamilton Township, starting on Saturday, May 4 at 10 p.m. The valve is connected to a water main that supplies water to hundreds of customers, including Hamilton Township Fire District 18, Project Freedom, Hamilton Chase, Kuser Village and Dragonfly Farms Nursery.

“We appreciate the patience and understanding from residents on both of these repairs, and we apologize for the inconvenience. Trained TWW crews are working quickly to make the needed repairs to these parts of our water-distribution system,” said Dr. Shing-Fu Hsueh, Director of the Department of Water Sewer, which operates Trenton Water Works.

The water main will be shut down for eight hours on Sunday, May 5, starting at 12 a.m. Approximately 500 customers from the 295 overpass to Leonard Avenue will be without water as our crews work to repair the bypass valve. Also, we will repair another 20-inch valve that is leaking at Newkirk Avenue and Liberty Street. In this scenario, we will mark out the affected area, wait five days for approval from the Bureau of Public Utilities—as is required by law—and then proceed with the repair sometime next week.
