Temperatures are Expected to Remain Below Freezing
Trenton N.J. – Mayor Reed Gusciora has declared a code blue alert for the City of Trenton for Saturday, February 25th, 2023.
A code blue extreme cold alert may be declared when temperatures drop below freezing and weather conditions pose a danger to the homeless population. Currently, the National Weather Service predicts a high of 37 degrees, with temperatures generally remaining in the low-to-mid 20s for late Friday evening and during the day Saturday.
As a result, the City of Trenton will be setting up a warming center at the Sam Naples Senior Center, located at 611 Chestnut Avenue, on Saturday, February 25th, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The City of Trenton will provide transportation, refreshments, and food. Mayor Reed Gusciora stated, “This is a critical time and I ask my fellow Trentonians to look out for one another and share the measures we are taking to keep each other safe.”
