Three Ways to Vote in Trenton for November Election

DSC_4287[1]

TRENTON, NJ – With one week until Election Day on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 residents are reminded that they don't have to wait to vote. Residents have three ways to vote this November: (1) voting in-person at an early voting site, (2) depositing your vote-by-mail ballot at a secure drop box, and (3) voting in-person at your assigned polling place on Election Day.

“I urge you to plan your vote,” Mercer County Clerk Paula Sollami Covello said, “to make sure that your voice is heard.”

Early Voting

All registered voters can cast their ballot in-person, using a voting machine, during a nine-day period prior to Election Day, which has already begun. Trenton residents can go vote now at Trenton Firehouse Headquarters, 244 Perry Street, Trenton, NJ. No appointment is necessary to vote.

Also, residents can vote at any of Mercer County's designated in-person early voting locations until Sunday, November 6, 2022. Hours are 10 am to 8 pm Monday through Friday and 10 am to 6 pm on Sunday. There are seven early voting sites located throughout the County. The full listing of early voting locations can be found here.

Mail-In Ballots

Residents can alternatively submit their vote-by-mail ballot at a secure drop box before polls close at 8 pm on November 8. Residents may also submit their ballot to any secure drop box located outside the City, if more convenient. The full listing for county-wide ballot drop boxes is listed here. The list of drop boxes located in Trenton can be found below:

  • Mercer County Clerk's Office - Courthouse Annex (front) – 209 S. Broad Street, Trenton, NJ 08608
  • Trenton City Hall – 319 E. St. Street, Trenton, NJ 08608 (Rear of the building, near City Clerk's Office)
  • Henry J. Austin Center – 321 N. Warren St., Trenton, NJ 08618 (Corner of Tucker) Trenton
  • Central High School – 400 Chambers St., Trenton, NJ 08609 (across from McDonald's)

The deadline to request a mail-in ballot sent to your home is November 2, 2002, or voters can request a mail-in ballot in person at the Mercer County Clerk’s Office. Voters can also deposit completed ballots at the drop box located in the front of the building. The Mercer County Clerk’s Office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with extended hours on Wednesday until 6:30 p.m. The Office also has Saturday hours from 9 am to 1 pm. The Mercer County Clerk’s office is located at Courthouse Annex, 209 S. Broad Street, Trenton, NJ.

Voting In-Person on Election Day

On Election Day, you must vote at the polling place that is assigned to your precinct and your ballot will be there waiting for you. Per NJSA 19:15-2, polling places remain open between 6 am and 8 pm. To find your polling location, you can (1) check the front of your sample ballot;  (2)  contact the Trenton City Clerk at (609) 989-3185; or (3) use the State of New Jersey Division of Elections polling place search tool (available here).

“I encourage all Trentonians to exercise their right to vote,” Mayor W. Reed Gusciora said after voting early at the Trenton Firehouse Headquarters on Tuesday.
