City of Trenton Hosting Local Construction Contractor Training Session Next Week

Trenton N.J. – Mayor W. Reed Gusciora today announced that the City will be hosting an information session at City Hall next week to train local independent contractors on how to participate in upcoming blight reduction efforts.

The session will take place on Oct. 20, 2021 in the City Hall Atrium on 319 E. State Street from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Participants will meet with Principal Planner Stephani Register to learn more about Trenton’s bidding process and upcoming construction opportunities targeting vacant city properties that are in urgent need of repair or demolition. The session will go into detail about required documentation and where to track upcoming projects.

"This program is particularly geared to local residents with a background in construction," said Mayor Gusciora. "With over 1,000 vacant homes in the City, we anticipate plenty of opportunities for independent Trenton entrepreneurs who can help us demolish or rehabilitate these properties.”

This training program is part of Trenton's "Fight the Blight" program. This program fuses Trenton’s long-term blight reduction strategy with extensive community and local business engagement. Repairing or taking down vacant properties is a top priority of the Gusciora administration as it seeks to attract development to neighborhoods that need it the most.

Social distancing and masks are required. Anyone interested in attending should RSVP to sregister@trentonnj.org.
