How do I get fingerprinted?

There are situations, such as applying for a firearm permit or obtaining a Letter of Good Conduct from the New Jersey State Police, when a person is required to submit a set of fingerprints. The Trenton Police Department does fingerprinting as a service to City residents and non-City residents.

Obtaining Fingerprints

Persons who want to be fingerprinted must go to the Records Office between 9 am and 3 pm, Monday through Friday on the first floor of Police Headquarters, which are located at:
225 N Clinton Avenue
Trenton, NJ 08609

There is a $25 fee for City Residents and a $30 fee for non-City Residents. The person being fingerprinted must bring picture identification that verifies he or she is a Trenton resident.
