Survey Includes Chance to Win $25 Gift Card for Local Downtown Businesses
TRENTON, N.J. - The City is seeking feedback from people who live, work, shop and eat in downtown Trenton as part of the N.J. Department of Community Affairs Neighborhood Preservation Program (NPP).
The online survey will help form projects designed to revitalize and rejuvenate the area located in and around the State, Broad, Front and Warren corridors.
Anyone who completes the survey will automatically be entered into a contest to win a $25 Love Local Downtown Trenton gift card, which can be redeemed at any participating merchant in Downtown Trenton, including 1911 Smokehouse BBQ, The Big Easy, Haute Nails & Co., Classic Books, BeSuited, Royal Cake Creations, Beauty World, and more.
In October 2021, Trenton was awarded a five-year NPP designation, which includes an initial $125,000 grant to engage local residents and businesses and generate tangible change in the downtown district. Trenton's downtown will receive up to $125,000 a year for five years to assist with economic and community development.
The online survey is one step toward ensuring residents and business owners have the opportunity to provide valuable input for the five-year NPP Implementation Plan.
The effort is being led by the City of Trenton in partnership with Isles Inc., a nonprofit community development and environmental organization that works to foster self-reliance and healthy, sustainable communities. The City and Isles will work with a local NPP stakeholder team to produce a plan that addresses community needs and builds on city assets.
The deadline for completing the survey - available in multiple languages - is Friday, Dec. 31, 2021 at 12:00 a.m. Go to this link to take the survey. The survey can also be accessed using the below QR Code.
Trenton is among 40 communities throughout New Jersey to receive this designation after NPP was revived in 2019 by Governor Phil Murphy and Lt. Governor Sheila Oliver. The goal of the program is to enhance buildings and streets, support small businesses and market local activities while also engaging community stakeholders.
