[ARCHIVED] TWW's Water Main Flushing Program, November 16-30

To maintain high water quality, TWW will conduct system-wide flushing of water mains from Monday, November 16 through Monday, November 30, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. TWW water-distribution system personnel will operate valves and open fire hydrants in our five-municipality service area to flush water mains of aged water, sediment, and other build-up. As we undertake this routine procedure, residents may see brown water at the tap. This normal condition is easily rectified by allowing the water to run for up to 10 minutes until clear. We recommend that you avoid doing laundry or running the dishwasher until you have performed this rinsing procedure. Also, if your refrigerator is equipped with an icemaker or water dispenser, discard the ice and dispense water for approximately five minutes to clear the water from the refrigerator’s internal reservoir. To learn more, call TWW’s Office of Communications and Community Relations at (609) 989-3033. We are at your service.
