Serves as Headquarters for COVID-19 Response
Trenton N.J. – In accordance with the City’s Emergency Operations Plan, Mayor W. Reed Gusciora issued the order to initiate the Emergency Operations Center in order to coordinate local response to COVID-19. An Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is a central command and control facility center, tasked with carrying out emergency preparedness, emergency management and disaster management. The Emergency Operation Center’s sole function is to collect, gather and analyze data to make decisions that protect life and property, maintain continuity of the organization and disseminate those decisions to appropriate agencies and individuals.
The Office of Emergency Management will be operating out of the Emergency Operation Center until the State of Emergency is lifted by Mayor Gusciora. The OEM is also is working closely with the State of New Jersey and Mercer County to keep the city updated.
The EOC will operate during normal business hours 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM and will be virtually monitored after business hours. All members of the Office of Emergency Management will be in contact with one another at all hours during the emergency.
