Chief Inspector Yolanda Vasquez to Fill Vacancy
Trenton N.J. – Director of Inspections, Leslie Graham, is stepping down from his post in City Hall. The 3-year public servant led efforts to demolish unsafe housing stock in the State Capital.
Mayor Eric Jackson brought on Director Graham in 2015. The Director was one of three cabinet appointments from Plainfield, where Jackson served as Public Works Director before his 2014 Mayoral run.
The City of Trenton Inspections Department will be under the direction of Chief Inspector Yolanda Vasquez.
Vasquez touts a 26-year career in public service; the last 15 of which have been spent in Inspections. She has served under four separate administrations.
“Inspector Vazquez is more than qualified to take on this position. She has the pedigree. She has the respect of her peers. She’s proven that she can work under any conditions thrown at her.” Mayor Reed Gusciora maintained.
The city recently adopted a new protocol for Inspections. Director Vasquez is notably excited at the opportunity to lead in her Department’s training.
“We’ve got a lot of work to do.” reflected the new Cabinet Member. Robert Snyder will serve as her acting Construction Officer.
