Trenton Building Trades Fair on Saturday, June 4
Trenton, N.J. — Mayor Eric Jackson announced today that the city will hold a Building Trades Fair at City Hall (319 East State Street) on Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fair will enable city residents to learn more about the building trades, specifically carpentry, electrical, plumbing, iron work and pipe fitting. The rain date is June 11.
Representatives from the Mercer Institute at Mercer County Community College will be available to talk with attendees about training and employment opportunities and what is needed to be successful in these lines of work. For those attendees with a criminal record, building trades can offer an opportunity for a fresh start, including business ownership. For more information, please call Alex Rivera at (609) 989-3385.
The Building Trades Fair is made possible by a collaboration between Capital City My Brother's Keeper (CCMBK)—an initiative launched by the Jackson administration in December 2015—various community partners and Mercer County Community College.
"Capital City My Brother's Keeper illustrates my personal commitment to form effective partnerships that help improve the lives of city residents," said Mayor Jackson.
